I just got a User veloce, it is my first AWD/RWD car so no experience with Rear diffs. At 100-110km/h when accelarating or keeping speed (cruise control)
I do notice a whining noise. it goes away on higher or lower speeds. But I have no clue what can be causing it.

It is not related to RPMs but speed.

In other forums found, this can be the rear differential. seen these symptoms exist in other Giulias (giuliaforums) anybody in Netherlands with the same?

Could be the rear diff, could equally be several other items. Wheel bearings starting to go, issues with the drive shaft coupling, or maybe something else entirely.

The problem with having to diagnose a particular sound or defect through a screen and with a keyboard, is that you can’t. Best advice: if you’re worried about it, or want a proper diagnosis, take it to your local specialist and invite them along for a drive to demonstrate the problem. They’ll be far more helpful in resolving your issue than any well-intended internet diagnosis.

I agree it is just assumption. The question is, which specialist is the best near Almere area to diagnose this?

Some dealers has more experience than others. And I have no clue which to try.
The car is under warranty

If the car’s under warranty then I’d strongly suggest taking it to the seller for repairs, as they’re the ones who need to honour the warranty.

If you’re looking for a second opinion or an independent diagnosis: pay a visit to H&S Corse, one of the most recommended Alfa specialists on this forum. Give them a call explaining what you need, and they’ll be happy to sort it out.

Again, given that the car’s still under warranty, I’d strongly advice taking it to the seller. Your purchase contract and associated warranty is with them, and they should be given the chance to remedy the issue.

take it to seller is not easy, as it is a 6month old car German import from dealer (Showroom car). Low mileage but I suspect was used for some test drives
I think I need to find a dealer here. Especially now with Corona issues.

I was thinking Wim Prins or In Houten. But do not know which one is the best.

I know H&S Corse, they where really nice with taking care my previous Giulietta! Nice guys! forgot about them.

H&S are true enthusiasts, so they’ll manage just fine! Wim Prins is, in my experience thusfar, excellent as well. They too can help you out, and since they’re an official Alfa Romeo dealer they may also be able to help you out with the factory warranty.

With your car being a MY2020 you should go to an AR dealer (warranty). When the dealer where I bought my car in 2018 didn't perform properly when I had problems, I went to Vireo Houten (now Stern Houten) for a second opinion and they treated me like I bought the car over there. They solved the problems my first dealer couldn't solve ..... I suggest you go there: I'm sure they are able to recognize the problem if there is one and will act accordingly. Succes !!

As far as I know, Wim Prins and Vireo belong to the best dealers in town. They both have lots of experience with Giulia’s and provide good service. I bought mine at Wim Prins and had a little warranty issue. The service was perfect. But according to Donald the service at Vireo is perfect as well. So, make your choice and let us know the outcome!

I can only second @grigio vesuvio ’s experiences with Wim Prins. They took excellent care of my 159TBi, involving me in every step of the process and they don’t do the work if they haven’t checked with you first. Nunspeet is an acceptable distance from Almere I imagine, as is Houten though. Vireo too have plenty of knowledge on the Giulia, so swings ‘n roundabouts really.

I was in germany today for a bit of work and did test the car a bit further.

Observations are:
1. any mode moans/whines under the speed reported
2. When warm does it more.
3. at 160km/h does it again! you can hear it over the exhaust even on D mode

and all only under load.

Unfortunatelly corona times, doesn't allow to drive with mechanics. I have a first appointment with Stern/vireo on Tuesday for check.

Found in American, uk and other forums... similar issues happening. so this is a lot more common issue as it seems! but lets see... without any solution yet, if it comes from the diff.
